Editorial Policy
Editorial Policy
Piventa is an open publishing platform: anyone can register and submit an article for free. To keep that openness trustworthy, every submission passes through editorial review before it is published. This page explains how that review works, the standards we apply, and what authors and readers can expect from us.
Our Editorial Principles
- People first. Content exists to help readers, not to manipulate search engines, sell links, or promote products.
- Accuracy over speed. We would rather take an extra day to review properly than publish something wrong quickly.
- Independence. Editorial decisions are made on quality and compliance alone. Publishing on Piventa is free, and no one can pay for approval, placement, or links.
- Transparency. Authors publish under their own names and bios, and readers can always contact us about the content we publish.
How Review Works
Step 1: Submission
An author submits a completed article through their Piventa account, following our Article Submission Guidelines.
Step 2: Initial Screening
We check for plagiarism, duplicate or previously published content, spam patterns, prohibited topics, and basic compliance with our guidelines. Submissions that fail this screening are rejected without full review.
Step 3: Editorial Review
An editor reads the article in full and assesses:
- Originality and genuine value to readers
- Accuracy of facts, claims, names, and figures
- Clarity, structure, grammar, and readability
- Experience and expertise shown in the content (E-E-A-T)
- Relevance and appropriateness of any links and images
- Compliance with our link policy and prohibited-content rules
Step 4: Outcome
The article is then:
- Approved and published under the author's name, or
- Returned for revision with brief feedback on what needs to improve, or
- Rejected if it does not meet our standards or falls into a prohibited category.
Reviews are normally completed within a few business days, depending on submission volume. Submitting an article does not guarantee publication.
Editing Before Publication
Our editors may make reasonable edits to approved articles, including correcting spelling and grammar, improving headings and formatting, clarifying wording, and removing non-compliant links or images. We aim not to change an author's meaning or voice. Where a needed change is substantial, we will normally return the article to the author instead.
Fact-Checking
Authors are primarily responsible for the accuracy of their own work, and our review includes proportionate fact-checking:
- For general topics, we check that claims are plausible, internally consistent, and not contradicted by well-known facts.
- For health, finance, legal, safety, and other high-impact topics, we apply stricter scrutiny. Important claims should be supported by reputable sources, and content must be clearly framed as general educational information, not personal professional advice.
- Statistics, studies, and quotations should name their source. Unsourced or unverifiable claims may be edited out or cause rejection.
- Content found to contain material misinformation will be corrected or removed, even after publication.
Content Standards
All published content must:
- Be original and written for a general audience
- Be honest, balanced, and free of deceptive claims
- Respect the law, including copyright and defamation law
- Respect readers — no hate speech, harassment, or discrimination
- Clearly distinguish fact from opinion, and advertising or personal interest from independent editorial content
- Disclose any material relationship the author has with a product, service, or company discussed
Author Responsibility
By publishing on Piventa, authors confirm that:
- The work is their own original creation and does not infringe anyone's rights
- Facts and claims in the article are, to the best of their knowledge, accurate
- Images and media used are owned by them or properly licensed
- They will respond in good faith if a factual question or complaint is raised about their article
Authors remain responsible for their published content. Piventa's review does not transfer that responsibility, and publication does not mean Piventa endorses every claim an author makes. See our Terms of Service and Disclaimer for details.
Corrections Policy
Nobody gets everything right every time — what matters is fixing errors openly and promptly.
- If you spot a factual error in a published Piventa article, please contact us with the article link, the specific statement you believe is wrong, and, where possible, a reliable source for the correct information.
- We will review correction requests and, where an error is confirmed, update the article as soon as reasonably possible — normally within a few business days.
- Significant corrections may be noted within the article so readers know it was updated.
- Minor typographical errors may be fixed without a formal note.
Removal Requests
We will consider requests to remove or update published content where:
- The content is factually wrong in a material way and cannot be adequately corrected
- The content infringes copyright or another legal right
- The content breaches our guidelines, policies, or the law
- There is a genuine privacy or safety concern
For copyright matters, please include the details set out on our Contact Us page so we can act quickly. Piventa reserves the right to remove any content at any time at its editorial discretion, as set out in our Terms of Service.
Reader Feedback
We welcome reader feedback on accuracy and quality. Constructive reports from readers help us maintain standards across a large, open platform, and every good-faith report is read by a human editor.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Editorial Policy from time to time as the platform grows and standards evolve. The current version will always be available on this page, and significant changes will apply to new submissions immediately and to published content on review.
